Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football with community service. First of all, he was raised with Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on an agricultural property near Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. In second football, he was the third brother who played for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. The year was 1973. Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards and Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for the entire nation. The three years he was an offensive lineman, Oklahoma finished 32-1-1 and also won two championships at the national level. He received a third scholarship in 1975. He was also named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon received a diploma as an educator. Lee Roy spent ten hours per week volunteering in his college days. In Tampa the Buccaneers, he was a player for the Buccaneers for nine seasons before becoming an all-pro. Additionally, he started his career in the field of business. In 1988, while working as an account relations officer at First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. There's no surprise that The Junior Chamber of Commerce designated him as one of the top 10 young men in the country. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch taller and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team for the year 1975. In 1993, he was a part of the University of South Florida as an associate director of athletics. In 1993, the College Football Hall of Fame recognized his on the 28th of October, 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame In 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Sr. received the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor that made the award.
