Amy Smart, an American model and actress from the United States. Her modeling career started in Italy which is where she was raised before being born in California. The beginning of her acting career came in 1996, when she was a character in the TV film Her Costly Affair. It was a long road to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller role. Amy had a difficult time making the leap from modeling into acting since model actors aren't generally considered to be actors of any kind. They are usually given smaller or unimportant roles. Amy persevered. She worked her way up into bigger roles, beginning in The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. Amy later stepped into lead roles in 2005's romantic comedy Just Friends starring Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years working. She continued with important films, including the Crank series starring Jason Statham and the series Shameless where she played an adored recurring character.
