Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Her modeling career started in Italy which is where she was raised before being born in California. The first time she acted was in the TV production Her Costly Affair. Her struggle to land an appearance for Starship Troopers, a film that featured mostly minor roles, was extremely intense. At first, it was difficult for her to switch from modelling to acting. This is because most models aren't good actors. They are typically only given small, insignificant role. Amy was never discouraged. Her first major part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. In 2005, she took on the lead role in The romantic comedic film Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy was recognized after more than ten years of working. She continued to do important films like Crank opposite Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a recurring role.
